Hotel Al Khozama excels in British and Irish cuisine
RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA - Prince Andrew; The Duke of York inaugurated the First British and Irish Food Festival at Hotel Al Khozama, A Rosewood Hotel last Sunday. The festival, which is held in cooperation with the British Embassy and the Embassy of Ireland, takes place at the mist-cooled Garden Barbeque of Hotel Al Khozama.
The Duke of York and the British delegation and guests, the Irish ambassador and the Irish guests, and prominent personalities of Riyadh were received at the hotel by senior management of Al Khozama Management Company. Hussein Hatata, VP Hospitality of AKMC, Peter Finamore, Managing Director of Rosewood Hotels in Riyadh, Erik Huyer, Hotel Al Khozama Manager and senior management of AKMC and Rosewood Hotels in Riyadh received HRH and the prominent personalities from Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as members of other ethnic groups in Riyadh at the opening reception. The bagpipe music played at the opening by Gevin Moffat who visited especially for the event and was highly welcomed by the guests and has certainly added to the charm of the occasion.

The ambiance and decoration at the hotel reflects British and Irish images, flags and fine cuisine. A backdrop has a painting of Buckingham Palace, Stonehenge and Irish scenery. "Mini" cars and London cabs were displayed at the venue.
The menu which changes to a new menu every twodays has a variety of traditional starters, main courses and main dishes such as pies, fish and chips, and Roast beef from England, Salmon from Scotland, Irish stew and special lamb dishes from Wales in addition to a variety of dishes from the Indian cuisine. Hotel Al Khozama's Irish Chef Gareth Carberry with his team joined by the British visiting chef Oliver Ridgeway offered their best recipes. The buffet and live cooking stations appealed to the eyes and senses.
The event is supported by UK Trade & Investment, BMI, SABB, Tourism Island, Bord Bia and, and Hawkshead Relish Company. At the end of the event, there will be a raffle draw on two tickets for two lucky winners, courtesy of BMI, to the UK or Ireland.
From 7:30 pm until 11:30 pm, the hotel's Garden Barbeque embraces the festive spirit of the UK and Ireland. The British and Irish Food Festival continues for dinner in the Garden Barbeque until the 31st of May. The dinner buffet is SAR 195, plus 15% service charge per person.
